Why lubricate your cube?

It's tedious and time-consuming but consider:

The springs that hold the cube core together will strip the plastic over time. While it's not enough to actually bore a hole through the center pieces, it creates plastic dust and an extremely unpleasant noise.

*Traxxas 50k and Lunar are silicone based lubricants with different viscosities.

STEP 1:

Loosen the cube cores.

Sort everything to make sure nothing's missing

HOT TIP! a 6x6x6 has 152 external pieces and 66 internal pieces for a total of 218 pieces to cry over!!

STEP 5:

Apply Traxxas 50k under the screw-head where the spring sits. Repeat for all 6 sides.

Assemble the cube.

HOT TIP! This 6x6 has 144 magnets installed in its edge and corner pieces to help keep it together, much like how my cat keeps me together. How supportive!!

STEP 7:

Before putting in the last edge, apply 8 drops of Lunar to the internals.

Shove in the last edge piece and scramble the cube to evenly distribute the lubricant.
